Comics Village seems to be a collection of guys and gals who contributed to the excellent Borderline Magazine. Loads of a great reviews and articles. There is something lacking about the design of the website to be honest but i guess i honestly can’t complain since I’ve been sitting on my design for this site for donkey’s. Been a really long time since I posted anything on this site, so I’ll start slowly and build the momentum.

Superpowers interview with Alex Ross. The new series from the creators of Earth X. New series from Dynamite Entertainment. The first book I got from Dynamite was Lone Ranger, which I really enjoyed a lot. This seems to have a lot of energy which is a good thing. And the fact that it’s got both Alex Ross and Jim Krueger on board is a definite must. My only complaint is the ABYSMAL graphic design for the first issue. Come to think about it couldn’t they have come up with a better logo for Dynamite. I mean seriously, with a name like that there is room for so much more energy than that piece of shit yellow and red thing.

The New Frontier Animated Movie

Justice League | The New Frontier Animated movie is hitting shelves next year, and I’ve got to say based on this little preview clip, I’m actually intregued to buy the book this week and really looking forward to seeing the movie. It’s the first DC animated movie that I want to watch and it’s nice to see what Dan Didio, Paul Levitz, Darwyn Cooke, Bruce Timm actually look like.

The Low Orbit anthology is definitely one to look out for coming in November from Image comics. Definitely one to look out for. Reminds me of the excellent Flight Anthologies from the past couple of years.

Kabuki Daily

I’ve spoken about the purely sublime series Kabuki when I reviewed Circle of Blood. Now you can start reading this series on a daily basis for free. That’s a pretty good deal if you ask me for one of the best stories ever written (by a 21 year old David Mack, no less). You’ve seriously got to see this to believe it. Subscribe now and make sure you read it every day…well once you’ve read a couple of pages you’ll be hooked no doubt, then go and buy the blasted book ^_^.

DeathNote

Jasmina, who’s the BIGGEST Otaku I’ve ever met in my life pointed me out to this manga series called ‘DeathNote’ The idea alone made me excited to read this. It’s basically about a boy called Kira who gets a book, whereby any name he scribbles down will be killed. He makes it his duty to kill all the bad guys in the world. As you can expect a lot of morality at play here. In his eyes he’s doing good but in many other people he is not, and by that definition is he one of the bad guys? Does his name deserve to be in the book as well?

For some strange reason you can register and download the series from Manga Download. Dunno how legit this all is to be honest with you (probably not very), however you can see how popular DeathNote actually is.

Spider-man 3 Trailer

Can be found here. I remember when the trailer for Spider-man 2 came out and I thought it was the best thing since sliced cheese. See the problem with this particular trailer is that it’s got me excited in the same way the last one did. My only problem with this situation is that SM2 seriously didn’t live up to my expectations. Lets hope they got the dialogue better this time round.

Ghost Rider Trailer

Obviously I’ve been out of the loop on all these comic book related news, but there’s a Ghost Rider trailer out. I’m not a big GR fan (having never read a comic with the character), but if Daredevil is anything to go by (same director), we’re going to be subjected to a monster prune.
