I’ve seen this on the shelves a couple of times in the past but I’ve never actually gone through it and checked out which ones are recommended and how many of them I’ve actually read, or would put on the list, or which ones I think that should be in there that’s weren’t. You know classic comic geek speak that I’ve been missing out on, so I might as well talk to myself about these things.

Is this one of the newer ones? A quick check on google tells me that this is in fact a new album. It was meant to come out in October it would seem, however I think based on Uderzo’s age we can all forgive as long as it takes him to do these things.

I would really love to get into this series, since I was a massive Solar and Magnus fan that were printed under Valiant. However that’s a seriously steep price point for me to enter some reprints from the 60s or 70s. I’m interested but unfortunately not really THAT interested. When/if Dark Horse publish this as a series of trade paperbacks I’ll definitely give it a closer look.

I’d love to be able to get this, except I’ve got most of the stories in here, and it’s 150 smakers. That’s roughly 90 quid, which seriously is a bit too much to pay even for Sin City. I’ve still not bought that Watchmen Hardcover and I really should buy it before they run out of it. That would be seriously annoying. I might pick this up on ebay in a year or something.

See for all the comic book companies wondering how to put together a website, I point you to one and only place, the Dark Horse website. These guys seriously know what they’re doing. The site is a fountain of information and it’s updated on a regular basis. Information is complete, pictures and all sorts of previews are oftentimes presented to the visitor. So when I went looking for information about this book, I’m seriously tempted to buy this. I’ve heard nothing but great things about Nexus. This is in the same format as their Magnus and Doctor Solar books, however unlike those books, something about getting into Nexus seems like something I could really enjoy.

This is just one of those books that I buy WITHOUT thinking twice. If it’s out, I buy it. I don’t need to browse in the shop to think about it. Once this series is done I’d really like to read Lone Wolf and Cub again, so that I can gain some appreciation of the epic battle between the heroes of both books. Should have been a great fight, problem is I can’t actually remember it,…too many fights to keep track of.

This one is in the see when it’s on the shelf and flick through it. The book is by Alex De Campi and Igor Kordey. Loads of people have given this great reviews, and you can read a slew of information about it in an interview with Newsarama.

Wtf man, is it the week for over expensive hardcover books? Don’t get me wrong, you get 24 issues in this behmouth. I’ve read the first 6 issues (have the first trade) and did actually enjoy it, just not enough to go for another one is all. I enjoyed Kirkman’s Invinsible much more. I know completely different things, but I’m not the zombie genre fan. Having said that I did enjoy 28 days later; I guess it was adequate just not enough to keep me coming back.
