IRON WOK JAN GN #17 $9.95
I’ve heard a great deal about this Manga. It’s meant to be very addictive and details the story of two chefs who are fighting it out to be the best in the kitchen. It sounds ridiculous, but I’ve come to understand that most Manga that sound idiotic are generally the ones that are the most fun. Something that comics in general seem to be lacking.

Speaking of fun manga, yeah this isn’t one of them. This is bloody violent and it’s bloody good. Month in and month out I plug this because you have to buy these little volumes. They’re the best introduction to feudal japan you’ll likely get, this side of reading Shogun (which is over 1000 pages or whatever). Highly recommended series, it’s just a crying shame that we can only look forward to a few more volumes of this before it’s run it’s course which is a crying shame.

ULTIMATE X-MEN ULTIMATE COLLECTION VOL 1 TP $24.99
Not completely sure what this is all about. I’ve got the first 3 volumes in hardcover, but if this collects the Mark Millar issues, then you’re all in for a treat because he seriously got these characters and created some seriously explosive stories. No writer since him has been able to do that on Ultimate X-men, and I’m including Bendis into the mix, since I don’t own any of the Bendis run…take that as you will.
