Slow week to be honest. That’s not a bad thing as I’ve got enough catching up to do so weeks like this make me smile. There are a couple of things worth pointing out however it’s more a reminder of the books I really should give a go and buy because they’ve reached volume 3 or 5.

I’m honestly not sure what this is but I’ve heard Alex Toth be described as an artist’s artist. To me that means he knows what he’s doing and is one of the masters. I’d very much like to know where and why that name came to be, but as he was slightly before my time it seems relatively hard to find that sort of material. I’ll definitely have to check this out on the shelf if I find it.

Concrete has always been something I would actually like to read at some point in time. I’ve read several books with Paul Chadwick on art and have thought that he’s got a very nice smooth style, however it’s just never really jumped out as something I’d enjoy reading. Hell I’m still struggling to read through Moonshadow and I class that book in the same style/genre as Concrete.

To this day I have no idea why I’ve not gotten into Liberty Meadows. Frank Cho is one of the best artists in the business. I’ve read several strips and honestly enjoyed them, however I’m more a fan of things changing and becoming more. Stuff like this reminds me what I’ve forgotten to get every time I go into the store. There are some hidden gems out there that elude even me. Right I’m not going to get this one, I’m going to hunt down for volume 1.

I’ve read a couple of Noble Causes. It’s effectively superhero soap opera. In the issue I read there was no fighting, it was all about the romance the double crossings that sort of thing. The art was very solid but for one reason or another I just didn’t get into it. I’m glad that Jay Faeber found his market and has just published his 5 trade paperback, that’s a feat to be honest since this book has never sold amazingly. If graphic novels were more mainstream girls would be all over this book.
