I do like Charlie Adlard. He’s got terrific work ethic and at one point was a massive comic book star due to his associated with the then ‘HOT’ X-files book. Ah the X-files, great first 3 seasons…anyway this pack is courtesy of Mr Larry Young over at Ait-Planetlar. There are three books in this pack, Nobody, WhiteDeath and Codeflesh. I’ve got the first two but I’ve not had the chance to pick up codeflesh. It was a book originally published at Image I believe before Larry took it and published it. Joe Casey I believe is responsible for the writing, so it’s going to be hit and miss. WhiteDeath however I can vouch for as being brilliant. Great art, great story, definitely pick this up even if you don’t buy the other two.

I’m thinking this one way of getting around the fact that Image has the rights to publishing the trades? I’m not sure, whatever the case is this seems to be a collection of the first 3 storylines of Powers by Oeming and Bendis. It is very good stuff. I’ve got all the trades until before the guys decided to go to Marvel with this. The reason for me stopping Powers came from me getting annoyed at the political direction Bendis was taking the book. It’s the same sort of thing that made me stop Queen and Country. It’s not that I don’t like political views in my books, it’s just that the manner in which these things are presented piss me off like you wouldn’t believe, but that’s a discussion for another time I’m sure.

I can’t WAIT to read this. Basically if you’re a Joss Whedon fan, then I don’t need to tell you about this. However if you’re a Firefly fan and thinking this is going to be shit, think again compadre. Basically this bridges the gap between the end of the Firefly series and the Serenity movie. Oh did I mention that Joss co-writes this. Add some brilliant covers and you’ve got a serious winner here. Go DARK HORSE!!!!!
