This one is very late indeed, but that’s due to the fact that I didn’t have any internet access at home. I was still able to get the daily reviews out simply because I’d written them before and therefore eaten into my contingency. I’ll be building my resevoir once more this weekend. It’s a good thing my net connection died on me because this week doesn’t seem all that interesting to be honest with you. But let’s get on with the few books that look interesting.

Having reviewed the original story set in this world that Gaiman created and enjoyed it I would have actually thought of buying this, if the original creative team was attached. Sadly that is not the case and this is a cash-in like that Top Ten mini-series from Wildstorm. Cash-in might sound harsh I guess but that’s what it feels to me. I follow creators not characters, generally speaking.

You will buy One Piece because it’s that bloody good. It’s one of the funnest series around, along with Naruto coming out of Viz. It’s not the best series from Viz (that would be Vagabond). Every time I read the adventures of Luffy I just smile because it’s got it’s heart in the right place and it’s one of those series that crosses the barriers between stuff that kids will get into in a big way, and adults will enjoy the sheer fun aspect of it all. It’s a fun and addictive story with pirates.

Must be a Marvel week as I’m actually pretty excited about this book as well. I’ve still not gotten the Bendis run on this book, although I’ve heard mixed reviews of it, I will eventually get around to it since it also marks Finch’s first work for Marvel since the 90s. This book however bring aboard Brian K. Vaughan as the writer and that’s reason enough to go out and buy this book.
