[...] I am very glad that DC decided to carry forward most of the elements established in this story, rather than discard them as most similar stories have done. Steel carried his own series for four years and is now prone to regular appearances in various Superman titles. The Eradicator enjoyed a brief stint as a hero with the Outsiders and has since been flipping between the hero and villain roles, though it is unknown if each incarnation is the original Eradicator or another sentient Kryptonian weapon. Superboy, aka Kon-El aka Conner Kent, is now an official member of the Kent family and a major character in both the Teen Titans and various Superman titles. The Cyborg Superman, now simply the Cyborg, is one of DC’s most recognizable recurring villains. The destruction of Coast City eventually led to Green Lantern Hal Jordan’s mental breakdown and destructive rampage as the host of the entity Parallax. This particular story line and its effects lasted for years and was eventually resolved in Green Lantern: Rebirth. [...]

Good choice, that is a pretty good book. Definitely check out 100 Bullets completely worth it, would make the ultimate tv series, such a shame television hasn't picked up on it because it would be winning awards right about now.

Thanks about the 9rules thing, it just kinda happened which is nice. I really need to sort out the design for this site as it's definitely in need of one.

Yeah I know, fantastic introduction. I read that and thought, hmm this is very promising. Definitely will be checking out other Geoff Johns books from now on. Just out of curiousity what was the other book you picked up James?

This is the second graphic novel that I have purchased based on your suggestion, and I can't thank you enough. I stopped reading the Green Lantern books once Hal Jordan went insane and took a more limited secondary role in the DCU. I really appreciate the way that Geoff Johns brought Jordan back to his ring and essentially cleared him of all charges. If you don't mind, I would like to quote a small chunk from Brad Meltzer's introduction to the hardcover edition of Rebirth:

There were infinite ways to bring Hal Jordan back. There were simple ways ("Just give him the ring and move on already"), complex ways ("And then, if your look at Green Lantern, volume 2, #188 on the last page, you can see from the trees that Mogo's a healer, which'll be vital for understanding that . . ."), and the tried and true only-in-comics ways ("I was brainwashed." "Replaced . . ." "My clone . . ."). We, however, got the best way of all. The Geoff Johns way.
