Introduction

Welcome to SplashPanel. This is hopefully the first post of many to come. I’ve got several things I want this website to be, however for the start it’s going to be a website dedicated to the beautiful sequential storytelling artform, otherwise known as Comic Books. Comic Books carry a serious stigma, in a negative sense and hopefully this website will help to elevate that stigma. Awareness is built one step at a time. Many of the topics I’ll cover here are covered much more extensively on a plethora of website all over the web, all you have to do is go and look.

The main focus this site will have it to promote and review my weekly comic book shopping, and hopefully scout poignant news that needs to be commented on. As I only read comics in collected format, I’ll be discussing chunks of story rather than individual stories. I have NO interest in knowing what happens before I’ve read it. So no spoilers are allowed on the site by monthlies readers. This is for the collected edition person in mind. Seems that there isn’t a place for us to get around and talk about these books that we’re reading for the very first time. SplashPanel will hopefully fill in that gap in the internet.

My aim is to update this site twice a week, sometimes more if I’ve got time. Once before the graphic novels ship on a Wednesday and then reviews of the ones I’ve actually read on the Sunday evening.
